Giving a Thanksgiving Dinner as a Thanksgiving Gift

What will you serve as the main meat for your Thanksgiving dinner? Will you serve a turkey? Or will you serve a ham? For some people, a turkey Thanksgiving gift is preferable over a ham Thanksgiving gift because it emphasizes the history of the holiday, uses food that are seasonal this time of the year, and adds more autumn color to the table.

All throughout American history, the turkey has been the center of Thanksgiving meals and it will probably continue to be for generations to come. Giving a turkey-based meal, as a Thanksgiving gift, is appropriate for those sticklers who refuse to part from tradition. It isn't even a matter of choice for these Thanksgiving die-hards. This is because to these folks, Thanksgiving means more than superficial fluff. In the homes of these people, you'll not only find traditional meals, you'll also find traditional Thanksgiving decorations and activities. So it only makes sense to give turkey dinners as Thanksgiving gifts to these holiday fans. (Of course this Thanksgiving gift is also perfect for the loved ones that you can't visit this season, for senior citizens, the homeless or financially displaced, and new mothers who've just given birth.)

You can find a traditional Thanksgiving meal at any grocery store that has an indoor deli or restaurant. Turkey dinners as Thanksgiving gifts can be pre-cooked and ready to be served, or uncooked for personal preparation. Expect to find a large Turkey - stuffing - Sweet Potatoes- Mixed Vegies - Gourmet Pumpkin Pie - Corn On The Cobs - cranberry sauce - roasted apples - and more in this bountiful Thanksgiving gift. Most dinners prepared as a Thanksgiving gift are pre-packaged according to the number of people served. For example, you can expect to find a four pound turkey breast in a food-based Thanksgiving gift for two, while a four to five pound turkey will serve ten to twelve people. A nine to ten pound turkey will feed eighteen to twenty people.

A pre-cooked or uncooked food-based Thanksgiving gift isn't as expensive as you might suspect either. To serve two people, expect to pay under a hundred dollars. To serve ten to twelve people, you'll spend a little over a hundred and twenty dollars. And to serve eighteen to twenty people, you may spend about a hundred and seventy dollars. That's not too bad for such a meaningful and traditional Thanksgiving gift.

Giving a pre-cooked or uncooked food-based Thanksgiving gift, you can bring a touch of autumn flair to those you love, and bring in bits of rich and golden brown, deep yellow, sunburnt orange, and deep green edibles. With beautiful visual appeal, seasonal flavors, and historic significance, a turkey dinner as a Thanksgiving gift just makes all the sense in the world to those who hold this particular holiday in high esteem.
